Jaime and Liam describe the motivation behind this straightforward but intriguing design they call "Plantable", that is hand crafted to order within their East London workshop using British oak and metal:
The Plantable reintroduces character into the connection with gathering, cooking and eating meals. It requires a presently domesticated object and allows character to assert it back. The area deliver to plants to develop within the four legs reflects around the distance we place between ourselves and also the processes involved with making our food.
To date, they have attempted and examined climbers, tomato plants, herbal treatments and sweet peas. Like windowfarms, hydroponic IKEA bookcases and hanging lamps that be used as small-green-houses, each one of these ideas are an easy way to include a pleasant touch of eco-friendly to anyone's diet, even just in small spaces.
