It's difficult to think the Slingbox has existed for seven years, but that just causes it to be harder to simply accept fundamental essentials first retail models which have been launched since 2008. That finally changes today, though: Sling Media just introduced two new place-shifters: the Slingbox 500 and 350 (pictured). On October 14th for $299 and $179, correspondingly, these new set-top boxes replace the Solo and Professional-HD. As the 350 simply adds 1080p streaming for the similar cost, the 500 adds SlingProjector, an element that allows you are taking photos saved in your iOS or Android tool and send these to your television (video streaming will quickly be supported too). The Slingbox 500 will even soon have the ability to play content on USB-attached storage, but that will be the next software update. The SlingPlayer applications obtain a refresh too, adding memory joggers as well as an simpler method to share your Slingbox with buddies.
