Deadly Explosion at iPad Production Plant in China

A surge in a Foxconn plant in Chengdu, China has wiped out a couple and hurt 16 others, reviews the Wall Street Journal. The Chengdu plant is just one of two facilities possessed by Foxconn that creates iPads for Apple.

The explosion happened around 7:00 Friday evening inside a "sprucing up plant" regarded as "in the finish from the production process after products are put together," based on the Journal.

Foxconn has another facility in Shenzen, China that creates iPads too. Fortune states, "Some believe nearly all iPads were being manufactured at Chengdu others state that Chengdu was getting trouble ramping up, which nearly all iPads remained as being produced in Shenzhen."

The reason for the explosion in the Chengdu plant is presently unknown and production continues to be suspended. Foxconn has attracted critique previously after one worker apparently died of exhaustion from working in a 34-hour change and many others committed suicide.
